Penetrate deeper into the playground of Bengal Tiger and one-horned Rhino.
Spread over an area of 932 sq. km, the Chitwan National Park was recognized by UNESCO as Natural Heritage Site on 1979. The name Chitwan translates to “the heart of the jungle” in English and Chitwan stays true to its name, i.e. it is right in the middle of vast deciduous forest, home to many flora, fauna and wildlife. Irrigated by three rivers, Narayani, Rapti and Reu, Chitwan has vast food plains apart from dense jungle.
Chitwan National Park is home to some of the most endangered animals in the world. The park is a natural habitat for Asian one-horned rhinoceros, elephants and Bengal tigers among others. Also found in the park are crocodiles, python, deer, rhesus monkey, langur, leopard and wild cats. Apart from that, the wetland of Chitwan National Park attracts numerous birds from around the world, including some rare and endangered ones, making the park a perfect location for bird watching in Nepal.
